CECC Shard Event

With the Shard officially open, on Wednesday the 25th September, MDR were proud to host, in partnership with Constructing Excellence Croydon Club, our evening at the Shard.

With tickets selling out in record time, the evening was certainly highly anticipated. The event commenced with a fascinating presentation by David Elder (Operations director at Mace) concerning the entire construction process, highlighting key issues and tribulations that were successfully navigated to create one of Britain’s most striking and influential buildings. Following David’s presentation guests were welcomed to a drinks reception at MDRs office, providing an excellent opportunity for some networking and thought-provoking discussion on the Shard.

The weather held out as we proceeded to the 68th floor of the Shard and the View was spectacular, despite the distant cloud cover. With over 90 people in attendance we certainly had a presence on the viewing platform.

We would like to thank everyone involved in the organisation of the night and all those who attended.
