Flowers Way Planning Submission

By | Luton, Mixed Use, Residential, Student Accommodation | 53 Comments

We are pleased to announce the formal submission for a detailed planning application of one of our largest schemes to date. Flowers Way, located in the heart of Luton, comprises a mix of 130 residential units and 359 student accommodation rooms, as well as prime commercial space.

On the site of an under-used car park, we have produced a scheme that seamlessly integrates with the urban Luton context along with our neighbouring scheme, Park Street West. Working to a strict client brief, we were able to maximise the site’s true value with a result in the generation of surplus units.

Overcoming a multitude of difficulties, the team relied on extensive experience within the area to produce an 11 storey development sympathetic to its surroundings and looking set to bring positive investment to an under-utilised area of Luton.

Croydon Design for Life Exhibition

By | Croydon, Exhibition | No Comments

With Croydon Design for Life Exhibition opening it’s doors next week, MDR Associates are excited to announce our participation for a second year.

Join us at Fairfield halls to celebrate the architectural transformation of Croydon. With over £3billion investments due to take place over the next 5 years, it is certainly an exciting time for us to engage with the architectural community and consider the future of Croydon’s skyline.

We are actively involved with the regeneration of this key London borough, through the development of several major schemes including a 27 storey tower, 80+ units residential schemes and a thriving live-work creative hub, not to mention more commercial and community refurbishment works.

The exhibition opens daily to the public between 10am and 4pm on Wednesday 11 to 19 June 2014. Visit www.croydondesignforlife.co.uk for more information and www.londonfestivalofarchitecture.org for other events this month.

New Cross Road Successful Planning Application

By | News, Residential | 550 Comments

We can safely add another successful planning application to the list.

New Cross Road is a mixed use scheme with 44 units of mixed tenure in Lewisham.

Occupying a key corner gateway site within the Deptford High Street Conservation and wider regeneration area, the design proposal was the fruitful outcome of an extensive design and pre-application process and close dialogue with Lewisham planning and urban design. Commended by English Heritage for the response to context within scale, materials and architectural rhythm, the project was consented on appeal to provide 44 homes ranging form 1 to 3 bed apartments built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4.

MDR are pleased to announce the launch of our newly designed website. We have worked hard to create a site that has an improved interface, showcasing a number of exciting projects from initial design concepts through the construction stages and ultimately to final hand over.  The rejuvenated  website allows users to access our unique, downloadable case studies providing a more in-depth analysis of the scheme.

We hope you like what you see and would love to hear your thoughts and feedback.

A big  thank you Underwaterpistol for their hard work in the creation of the site.
